Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the level of knowledge about eating disorders in nursing students of UNIANDES in the city of Ambato - Ecuador. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: 54% mentioned that eating disorders are caused by biological, psychological and social factors, 25% only by psychological factors, 16% by socioeconomic factors and 4% of the students did not know the cause. Conclusion: It has been identified that the majority of UNIANDES nursing students have knowledge about eating disorders, including their causes, risk factors, types and treatment. However, a significant percentage of student’s present lack of knowledge on this topic.
