Emotional impact from alopecia in adult patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment at an outpatient center

Objective: To identify the emotional impact associated with alopecia in adult patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: A validated questionnaire was used to collect data, which was then analyzed, graphed, and interpreted. Results: 75% of people suffer from depression and sadness, 35% report that it affects their relationship with their partner, 25% report that it always affects their self-esteem, and 40% report that it only affects their self-esteem sometimes. Conclusions: The emotional aspect and professional analysis are essential in reducing the emotional impact associated with alopecia. The well-being of the patient, their family, and a comprehensive perception of health are essential to reducing side effects. This is complemented by the openness and active participation of healthcare personnel in a scientific, analytical, and precise manner.
