Lingual projection and its impact on malocclusions

Objective: To analyze tongue projection and its impact on malocclusion. Method: A systematic review of 15 scientific articles was carried out using databases such as PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. Conclusion: Tongue projection is an important factor in the development of malocclusions, and its effective management requires a multidisciplinary approach including orthodontists, myofunctional therapists and, in some cases, maxillofacial surgeons.
