Abstract

Objective: to analyze the considerations about bacterial meningitis. Method: Descriptive documentary, we worked with a population of 15 scientific articles published in PubMed. Conclusion: In the etiological context, several pathogens capable of causing this infection have been described, among the most common are Streptococcus pneumoniae and Neisseria meningitidis, which can be transmitted from person to person through oropharyngeal secretions, which makes contagion greater.
