Consideraciones éticas del estado vegetativo

Objetivo: Analizar las consideraciones éticas del estado vegetativo. Método: Descriptiva documental. Conclusión: Los profesionales de la salud deben garantizar el respeto y la dignidad de los pacientes con SVSR, seguir principios éticos y legales para tomar decisiones que deben ser elegidas en conjunto con los representantes legales y familiares, evitar la discriminación y asegurarse de que se respeten los derechos y preferencias del paciente, incluso cuando no pueden expresarlos directamente. Surge el dilema de decidir si mantener o retirar la atención médica en pacientes en estado vegetativo crónico. Esto involucra consideraciones éticas sobre el beneficio y la proporcionalidad de los tratamientos, la calidad de vida percibida y los deseos previos expresados por el paciente.
