Care for Guillain-Barré syndrome patients, case report

Objective: To present a case report on the care of patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Methods: Case report. A 39-year-old female patient with a diagnosis of Guillain-Barré syndrome was admitted to this health centre due to a transfer from Andrade Marín, Quito, the reason for which the patient's relatives requested her transfer for economic reasons. Conclusion: It is essential for nursing staff to identify patients with GBS by assessing the signs and symptoms and complementary examinations, as this will help to provide a brief diagnosis and also to ensure that the treatment given is effective, given that it is usually more effective when treated early.
