Evaluation of dental caries in childhood

Objective: Evaluate dental caries in childhood. Method: An investigation was carried out using the descriptive method to know the caries index. Results and conclusions: The child with caries at an early age requires constant responsibility from the parents, especially from the mother, because mothers during pregnancy may be at greater risk of developing caries because they eat more frequently to avoid nausea. . Children at an early age are highly vulnerable to health problems in general because they are the ones who are at risk of ingesting sugary substances such as medicines that contain sucrose and sweetened pacifiers, the use of syrups to control coughs and flu conditions are relevant factors in the development of early childhood caries, since they contain up to 70% sucrose; sugar-containing medicines cause dental caries in children.
