Factores de riesgo a nivel bucal por consumo de anticonceptivos orales en estudiantes universitarios

Objetivo: Identificar los factores de riesgo a nivel bucal por consumo de anticonceptivos orales en estudiantes universitarios. Método: Descriptiva documental. Resultados: Un estudio evidenció que los anticonceptivos orales pueden alterar la función tiroidea, lo cual tiene implicaciones indirectas en la salud bucal, dado que las disfunciones tiroideas pueden afectar la composición salival y la respuesta inflamatoria gingival. Conclusión: Los resultados sugieren que el uso de anticonceptivos orales representa un factor de riesgo significativo para la salud bucal en estudiantes universitarias. Es fundamental que los profesionales de la salud estén conscientes de estos riesgos y que las pacientes reciban información adecuada para prevenir y manejar posibles complicaciones orales.
