Preventive maintenance and productive capacity of the road team of the decentralized autonomous government, Pastaza. Ecuador

The objective of this research is to evaluate the methodology applied for the preventive maintenance of the road equipment of the Autonomous Decentralized Provincial Government of Pastaza. The research was descriptive and was carried out in the Provincial GAD of Pastaza, specifically in the Administrative Directorate, Public Procurement and Mechanics and Maintenance Headquarters. The results showed that the institution is currently not taking advantage of the benefits of having a preventive maintenance plan, since an adequate temporality is not determined and therefore the work fronts are paralyzed due to machinery failures. In conclusion, not applying a maintenance plan prevents detecting minor damage and taking timely corrective actions that trigger major breakdowns, putting productivity and efficient use of the resources available to the institution at risk when venturing into road works by direct administration. , jeopardizing the continuity of the service.
