Objective: To analyze the level of knowledge between periodontal disease and orthodontics. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: The interaction between orthodontics and periodontal health is complex and multifaceted, significantly influencing gingival tissues in both positive and negative ways. Biofilm accumulation and oral hygiene are critical factors during orthodontic treatment, especially in patients with periodontal compromise. Advanced strategies such as guided tissue regeneration and the use of injectable hydrogels show great potential for improving periodontal health.
