Abstract

Objective: To analyze the management of sepsis and septic shock in obstetric patients in the intensive care unit.  Method: Descriptive documentary. Results and Conclusion: Sepsis and septic shock in obstetric patients, the literature consulted agrees that the predisposing factors with obstetrics and risk factors of the patient are the first in the appearance of infection of the uterus, its annexes and the different invasive procedures during euthyroid and dystocic delivery, while its relationship with sepsis are also the history, comorbidities, nutritional status of the pregnant woman, being the most important is the socioeconomic stratum to which they belong.
