Abstract

Objective: to analyze the risk factors associated with mortality in patients with COVID 19. Method: Descriptive documentary. Results and Conclusion: Age greater than or equal to 65 years, an aspect that some authors incorporate even after 60 years of age, it is highlighted in this sense that the higher the age index, the higher the probability of mortality risk. Male gender was also considered a possible risk, although there was little agreement as to the significance of these with respect to women. In addition, the presence of comorbidities such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, pneumonia, immunosuppression, arterial and venous thromboembolic events, chronic kidney disease and obesity are considered possible risk factors for mortality in patients diagnosed with COVID-19.
