Proposal for an automated flower stem cutting machine

Abstract

The objective of this research was to design an automated machine for cutting flower stems. Methodologically and procedurally, we proceed with the selection of the cutting saw according to the material, in this case rose stems as wet wood, to continue with the required power. For the selection of the programming software of the system, a weighting of the best characteristics to the dimensioning of the project is made to continue with the process of construction of the structure, assembly and electrical connection of its components. Once the construction, assembly and electrical connection is done, we proceed to the integration of the power system with the artificial vision system through the use of Python software which shows an image processing speed of 30 frames per second causing the system to show a constant fluidity without interruptions; the webcam complies with the proper operation.
