Abstract

Objective: To analyze the clinical and orthodontic implications of premature loss of primary teeth in children aged 6 to 10 years. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: The premature loss of primary teeth in children aged 6 to 10 years has profound implications that go beyond the oral cavity, affecting both dental morphology and the functional and psychosocial development of the child. The evidence reviewed underlines the importance of maintaining the integrity of primary teeth to avoid malocclusions, alterations in dental eruption, and problems of self-esteem and socialization.
