Level of knowledge about periodontal disease in adolescents

Objective: To analyze the level of knowledge about periodontal disease in adolescents. Method: Descriptive documentary, 15 papers from PubMed were analyzed. Conclusion: The analysis of the level of knowledge about periodontal disease in adolescents reveals a worrying lack of information and awareness about this condition, which increases the risk of developing serious pathologies later in life. It is imperative to implement educational programs focused on oral health promotion from an early age, combined with preventive strategies adapted to the specific needs of this population.
