Abstract

Objective: To analyze the importance of dental consultation in young pregnant mothers. Method: Descriptive documentary study. Conclusion: Dental consultation during pregnancy is an essential component to guarantee the oral and systemic health of the mother and the wellbeing of the fetus. Evidence shows that specific educational and preventive interventions aimed at young pregnant mothers not only improve oral health knowledge and practices, but also reduce the incidence of complications such as dental caries and periodontitis, which are associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes.
