Objective: to analyze nursing care for pressure ulcers in patients with acute respiratory distress in intensive care. Method: A systematic review was carried out where 15 documents with the academic quality of the studies were included. Results and conclusion: Priority was given to detecting the risk factors presented by critically ill patients, for which they were more susceptible to presenting ulcers in the prone position, once detected, the respective nursing care was applied with special skin care, keeping it moisturized. Placing hydrocolloid patches in the areas with the greatest risk, making the respective change of position every two hours, allowed to avoid pressure on the skin and injuries.
