Abstract

Objective: Analyze the anatomy of the pelvic floor. Method: The process to which this research is subjected is to bibliographically review documentation with scientific structures made previously by other authors according to the subject, but without it being extracted from repositories with a date of very distant years to which Write this topic. Results and conclusions: The muscular and connective tissue structures (fascia, ligaments, among others.) form a structure that provides support to the abdominopelvic organs during standing and changes in intra-abdominal pressure, in addition there are connective tissue structures that fix the organs to the pelvis functioning as fixation and suspension points. This maintains the anatomical position of the organs in the pelvis allowing adequate functioning for both fecal and urinary continence.
