Cuidados después de una extracción de terceros molares en la cavidad oral

Objetivo: Analizar las prácticas recomendadas para el cuidado postoperatorio tras la extracción de terceros molares. Método: Descriptivo documental, la población fue de 18 articulos científicos publicados en bases de datos: PubMed, Scielo, Scopus, WOS. Conclusión: La prevención de infecciones es esencial, especialmente en pacientes con factores de riesgo como inmunosupresión o diabetes. El uso de antibióticos profilácticos ha sido un tema de debate; aunque no se recomienda de forma rutinaria para todos los pacientes, puede ser beneficioso en casos específicos. La inflamación postoperatoria es otra complicación común, y la aplicación de frío local en las primeras 24 horas post-extracción es una práctica recomendada para reducirla.
