Conocimiento de los progenitores y la salud oral en infantes con trastorno del espectro autista

Objetivo: Analizar el conocimiento de los progenitores y la salud oral en infantes con trastorno del espectro autista. Método: Se realizó una revisión sistemática utilizando bases de datos como PubMed, Scopus y Web of Science. Se incluyeron 15 estudios. Conclusión: Los estudios revisados sugieren que las intervenciones basadas en el modelado en video y las historias sociales son herramientas efectivas para mejorar la cooperación de los niños con TEA durante las prácticas de higiene oral. Estas técnicas no solo ayudan a los niños a aprender y retener habilidades de cepillado, sino que también facilitan la reducción de la ansiedad y el comportamiento disruptivo durante las visitas al dentista. La participación de los progenitores en la implementación de estas estrategias es crucial para su éxito.
