Abstract

Based on the experimental results obtained, the physical-mechanical properties were analyzed in different briquettes of hot asphalt mixtures, type IV, prepared. This was compared to the specifications of the Venezuelan COVENIN 2000: 87 standard. Among the most outstanding conclusions is the feasibility of adding 3% glass to the mixtures, for offering better resistance and stability while it is unfavorable to add more of this amount because it is very rigid and susceptible to breakage. In view of the above, the application of this study is proposed in the preparation of asphalt mixtures, thus reducing the volume of waste present in the community, leading to an environmental benefit, therefore research is constituted in an integral response, that is it gives solution to the problems detected in the approach made in the community.
