Supplementation with African Palm Mud (Elaesis guineensis Jacq) in cows in milk production

The general objective of the research was to determine the effect of supplementation with three levels of African palm sludge (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in the feeding of cows in milk production. The research design was experimental, with a completely randomized method with three treatments with six animals per treatment (six repetitions). Three levels of palm sludge were included in the diet of Brown Swiss cows. Using 24 experimental units studied under a completely randomized block system. As a conclusion, it was obtained that the use of palm mud in the diet of cows in production had a positive effect on daily milk production of 86.83 Kg/week and weight gain of 213gr/animal/day, for T2. . Reason for which the null hypothesis is rejected and it is concluded that the inclusion of oil palm sludge in the diet of cows in production, within a semi-intensive system improves milk production and body condition.
