Structural affectations present in houses near the Machángara River in Cuenca - Ecuador.

In the city of Cuenca, province of Azuay, the number of overflows of the main rivers in the area poses a potential danger to structures that do not meet the minimum separation parameters between the edge of the river and the structure. These breaches are due to structures that were built long before the regulations were in force. For this reason, a database of the structures that do not comply with these current requirements stipulated by the municipal GAD of the city and a potential danger zone analyzed in the IBER program with the probable maximum flow of river flooding was prepared. In addition to these inputs, the nonlinear static model was analyzed with the current properties of the concrete and the effect produced by the water load on the columns that are subjected to this horizontal load.
