The general objective of the research was to propose the optimization of the 13.8 kV “Gobernación” distribution circuit, belonging to the Coro I substation. Miranda Municipality, Falcón State. This research was epistemologically supported by the socio-critical paradigm and the applied methodology was participatory action research, in which those involved in the research are the beneficiaries, in this case the beneficiary is the company CORPOELEC. For the development of this research, a tour was carried out along this distribution circuit, in addition, the ETAP software was used to develop its simulation. Among the conclusions it can be stated that improvements are required in this circuit since there are weaknesses in the area of the maneuvering and protection equipment, which are not complete or are in poor condition, requiring maintenance, the coding of posts or structures.
