Objective: To analyze hypothyroidism and its effects on oral health. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Several oral manifestations such as enamel hypoplasia, open bite, delayed tooth eruption without root development, taurodontism, condylar hypoplasia, maxillary or mandibular atresia, increased susceptibility to caries, periodontal disease, gingivitis and many more are affectations that can occur if a patient has hypothyroidism since one of the activities of the thyroid gland is bone growth.
