Diabetes tipo II y la salud oral

Objetivo: Analizar a relación existente entre la diabetes 2 con la salud oral. Método: Descriptiva documental. Conclusión: La diabetes tipo 2 está estrechamente asociada con una variedad de enfermedades bucodentales, incluida la periodontitis, la caries dental y la candidiasis oral. Comprender los mecanismos fisiopatológicos subyacentes y las implicaciones clínicas de esta interrelación es crucial para proporcionar un cuidado oral integral y efectivo a los pacientes diabéticos. Se requieren futuras investigaciones para explorar en mayor profundidad la relación bidireccional entre la diabetes tipo 2 y la salud oral, así como para desarrollar estrategias preventivas y terapéuticas específicas.
