Objective: to analyze the relationship between diabetes 2 and oral health. Method: Documentary descriptive. Conclusion: Type 2 diabetes is closely associated with a variety of oral diseases, including periodontitis, dental caries and oral candidiasis. Understanding the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms and the clinical implications of this interrelationship is crucial for providing comprehensive and effective oral care to diabetic patients. Future research is needed to further explore the bidirectional relationship between type 2 diabetes and oral health, as well as to develop specific preventive and therapeutic strategies.
