Objective: To carry out a comparative analysis of moist heat and dry heat sterilization systems. Method: Descriptive documentary study. Conclusion: It has been determined that the moist heat sterilization system is the most widely used in the dental field, as it achieves 100% effectiveness in the elimination of bacteria from dental instruments in a time of no more than 20 minutes approximately. In the case of the dry heat system, in this research it was found that, despite being an effective method, this depends on factors such as heat diffusion, application method and amount of disposal, as the level of bacterial elimination of dental instruments will depend on this.
