Objective: to analyze basal cell carcinoma and its consequences. Method: Descriptive documentary, 15 articles published in PubMed were used. Conclusion: Basal cell carcinoma is considered a malignant tumor that is usually found in the skin, it arises from pluripotential cells that are found throughout the epithelium, its growth is slow and very rarely will produce destruction both locally and at a distance compromising different areas of cartilage and bone tissue.
