Abstract

Objective: to analyze the impact on body image in women with breast cancer receiving cancer treatment by means of a literature review. Method: Descriptive observational literature review, in a population of 15 scientific articles. Results and conclusion: Cancer treatments seriously affect the body image of breast cancer patients, causing physical, psychological and social consequences that make them feel ashamed and unsure of themselves. Therefore, family support and guidance from health personnel is essential to make the whole process more bearable.
