Abstract

Objective: to analyze nursing care and prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia in intensive care. Method: descriptive observational. Results and Conclusion: The observation record showed an adequate level of practices, but the antiseptic washing process and the maintenance of ventilators within the appropriate time limits should be improved. These present a moderate and significant level of relationship. With greater impact on controlling the level of humidity and temperature of the ventilator. It was corroborated that the level of practices is inadequate (sig. < 0.05).
