Estimation of work stress in nursing staff caring for covid-19 patients

Objective: to analyze work stress in nursing staff caring for covid-19 patients. Method: Descriptive observational. Results: The incidence of physiological symptoms can be observed; muscle tension (100%), headache (100%), pain in the neck and back (95%), were the most frequently affected. Gastrointestinal disorders (74%) and sleep disorders (74%) appear next. Conclusion: Managers identify headache and muscle pain, associated with work overload and the use of protective means, as the main manifestations of work stress in nursing staff who care for patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in the ICU of the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital, Guaranda.
