Best practices for patient safety in the emergency department

Objective: The overall objective of the research was to describe good practices for patient safety in the emergency department. Method: The positivist paradigm was used from the quantitative perspective, with a non-experimental design, the type of research is field and descriptive level and the application of the deductive method. Supported by documentary-bibliographic research with the analysis of refereed scientific works, theses, among others. Results: Management by the health team is essential, as a priority action to preserve life. In conclusion: It is necessary to promote good practices for patient safety in the emergency area of the different health centers. It is essential to have a coherent, dynamic and specialized health team capable of dealing with the most delicate cases that may arise in this area.
