Relationship between workload and level of anxiety in nurses in an ecuadorian hospital

Objective: To determine the degree of affectation of the workload and the level of anxiety in the nursing staff of the Hospital General Docente Ambato. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: In social relations, nursing personnel 1 (0.6%) determined high dissatisfaction, 3 (1.8%) partial dissatisfaction and 163 (97.6%) regular dissatisfaction. Conclusion: It was evidenced that there was a relationship between workload and anxiety in the nursing staff of the Hospital General Docente Ambato, Ecuador, during the month of October 2020 and significant statistical data were found in relation to the type of contract and the degree of agreement with the institutional guidelines or norms directly associated with the worker. The levels of anxiety determined in the present study showed a significant register with moderate anxiety, which determined that there was a public health problem in the personnel.
