Cuidado enfermero en pacientes con síndrome de Down (tetralogía de Fallot) con patologías cardiovasculares

Background: Down syndrome manifests certain complications such as congenital heart disease, one of them being Tetralogy of Fallot. Objective: to analyze from a documentary review the nursing care in patients with Down syndrome (tetralogy of Fallot) with cardiovascular pathologies. Method: PRISMA procedure, 10 articles taken from PubMed and SCOPUS were analyzed. Results: nursing care should be based on building trust with the child with Down's syndrome so that he/she feels secure and, likewise, trust should be built with the parents in order to resolve any type of concern or change during the development of the child with Down's syndrome. Conclusion: the nursing staff should make an early intervention together with the team of therapists and special educators in order to treat this situation in a specific way in each child who presents this type of congenital heart disease.
