Estrategias para mejorar el autocuidado de enfermedades metabólicas en la comunidad de Zuleta-Imbabura

Objetivo: Analizar la prevalencia de enfermedades metabólicas en la comunidad de Zuleta. Método: Descriptiva observacional. Resultados: La población manifiesta que padece hipertensión arterial con un 41%, seguido de diabetes mellitus con un 21%, el 17% padece obesidad, el 9% hipercolesterolemia, 7% hipertrigliceridemia, seguida del 3% hipotiroidismo, por último, el 2% hipertiroidismo. Conclusión: Los resultados obtenidos en la comunidad Zuleta muestran una alta prevalencia de enfermedades metabólicas, especialmente hipertensión arterial y diabetes, afectando en mayor medida a los hombres y a los adultos mayores. Las deficiencias en hábitos alimenticios, la baja frecuencia de actividad física y el limitado control médico regular son factores clave que contribuyen a esta problemática, la predisposición genética y los antecedentes familiares de hipertensión incrementan el riesgo de complicaciones futuras.
