Objetivo: Analizar el uso racional de medicamentos, por parte de los odontólogos. Método: Descriptivo documental. Conclusión: El uso racional de medicamentos es un componente esencial de la práctica odontológica segura y eficaz. La prescripción irracional no solo compromete la salud del paciente, sino que también contribuye a problemas de salud pública como la resistencia a los antibióticos. Es imperativo que los odontólogos se comprometan con la educación continua, la adherencia a directrices clínicas, y la implementación de estrategias que promuevan la prescripción racional. De esta manera, se puede mejorar la calidad del cuidado dental y proteger la salud de la comunidad en general.
