Quality of life in preschool children due to dental caries

Objective: To analyze the quality of life in initial children due to dental caries. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: 75% of the parents reported that their children became irritable and had difficulty sleeping due to dental pain. Fifty percent of parents indicated that dental pain affected their children's academic performance, while 65% noted that their children's self-esteem was reduced due to premature tooth loss or changes in dental appearance. Conclusion: Dental caries has a significant impact on the quality of life of preschool children, affecting their physical, emotional and social well-being. It is essential to implement preventive strategies and improve access to dental care to mitigate these effects and promote optimal oral health from an early age.
