Objective: to explore the current evidence on the therapeutic use of aromatherapy during pregnancy. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Aromatherapy, in the context of pregnancy, is emerging as a complementary intervention of growing interest, capable of mitigating prevalent symptoms such as pain and anxiety, as well as improving the quality of sleep in pregnant women. However, its application should be carefully supervised by health professionals with specific training, since the efficacy and safety of the essential oils used can vary considerably depending on the dosage and quality of the product.
