Abstract

Objective: To analyze the cariogenic diet in pre-school children. Method: systematic review. Conclusion: The evidence reviewed underlines the urgent need to implement multifaceted interventions and public health policies to address the high prevalence of dental caries in pre-school children. The cariogenic diet, characterized by a high intake of fermentable sugars, is a critical factor in the etiology of dental caries.
