Tocopherol and its importance for the oral cavity dietary habits

Objective: To analyze the systematic review study of 15 articles published in PubMed was carried out. Method: systematic review of 15 articles published in PubMed. Conclusion: Tocopherol plays an essential role in oral health due to its potent antioxidant properties, which protect oral tissues from oxidative damage caused by free radicals and environmental factors. Studies have demonstrated its efficacy in preventing serious oral diseases such as oral cancer and osteoradionecrosis in irradiated patients, as well as its potential to improve the overall health of the oral cavity through the inclusion of vitamin E-rich foods in the diet. These findings underscore the importance of adequate tocopherol intake in maintaining the integrity and health of oral tissues, with both preventive and therapeutic benefits.
