Abstract

Objective: To analyze the knowledge of bruxism using the self-reported bruxism questionnaire scale in medical students. Method: Descriptive observational. Results: Teeth grinding during sleep 30% (n=28) reported experiencing this symptom frequently, 45% (n=41) occasionally, and 25% (n=23) rarely. Conclusion: Although a significant proportion of medical students have adequate knowledge of the symptoms and management of bruxism, there are areas for improvement, particularly in the full recognition of symptoms and understanding of management strategies. The high prevalence of bruxism symptoms among students with high levels of academic stress suggests that interventions aimed at stress management could be beneficial.
