Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effects of whitening toothpastes on the dental surface. Method: descriptive observational, it was determined that 3 experimental groups, each represented by a commercial brand of whitening toothpaste Oral B 3D White, Luminous White Sensodyne Extra Fresh Whitening and 1 control group. Conclusion: After analyzing the effects of different commercial brands of whitening toothpastes on the tooth surface, it can be concluded that each product presents significant variations in their effectiveness and possible associated risks. LUMINOUS WHITE proved to be an effective and safe option, providing natural whitening without noticeable abrasive effects. In contrast, ORAL-B showed more aggressive whitening, which can result in potential damage to enamel if not used properly. On the other hand, SENSODINE, although less effective in terms of color change, offers a gentler and more suitable option for people with tooth sensitivity.
