Abstract

Objective: To analyze the fracture rate in teeth with previous endodontic treatment. Method: Descriptive documentary. Results and conclusion: It is crucial to emphasize that any endodontically treated tooth should be restored with the sole objective of restoring the patient's function and esthetics, minimizing coronal filtration and preventing crown fractures. During endodontic treatment, loss of tooth structure may occur due to the removal of carious tissue, access to the pulp chamber, canal instrumentation and preparation for the final restoration. These processes can weaken the tooth, increasing its susceptibility to fracture as a result.
