Objective: To analyze oral frenulum, origin, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. Method: Descriptive documentary, the population was 15 articles published in Scielo, Latindex, PubMed. Conclusion: The prevalence of oral frenulum in Ecuador shows that upper labial frenulum is the most common in males, while in females ankyloglossia, which is an anomalous lingual frenulum, prevails.
