Abstract

Objective: To analyze physiological healing vs platelet-rich fibrin in lower third molar surgeries. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: The application of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) promotes the tissue healing process and reduces discomfort such as pain, swelling and bleeding after mandibular third molar surgery, although the variants advanced platelet-rich fibrin (A- PRF) and leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) are more efficient than simple PRF. It is concluded that after lower third molar surgical procedures, the use of simple PRF should be chosen instead of physiological healing or variations thereof, as PRF has been shown to promote healing.
