Technological advances in cad-cam planning in smile design

Objective: To analyze the technological advances in CAD-CAM planning in smile design. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Pro Taper Gold files have better flexural strength, as in a comparison of the two files, Pro Taper Gold came first, followed by V-Taper Fanta Gold, based on their strength and deformation indices for both cutting classes. Pro Taper Gold has a better centring ability; however, it had a lower residue extrusion compared to V-Taper Gold. Due to the limited studies on V-Taper Gold files, it is recommended to use Pro Taper files, as they have been tested in several studies that guarantee their efficiency.
