Objective: to analyze the importance of healthy eating habits. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Caloric restriction has been consistently associated with benefits for metabolic health and longevity. Numerous studies have demonstrated improvements in insulin sensitivity, reduction of inflammatory markers, and prevention of chronic disease. These findings support the importance of considering calorie restriction strategies in promoting health and longevity. Intermittent fasting has emerged as a promising strategy for improving health and longevity. Studies reviewed have demonstrated positive effects on metabolism, insulin resistance, and protection against metabolic diseases. However, further research is required to fully understand the underlying mechanisms and long-term effects of intermittent fasting.
