Abstract

Objective: To investigate how biomedical research during World War II helped the development of bioethics today. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: There is a debate on the use of the information obtained during this period, the same conclusion is reached; and that is that although its methods of obtaining information are completely disapproved in the ethical world, it is not possible for this type of knowledge to exist. The fact that it was a dark and inhuman period should not be ignored, but neither should it be underestimated that without this event everything we know about current bioethics and biomedical research in a certain way would not be possible.
