Objective: to determine the impact of poor eating habits on academic performance, in order to understand the relationship between nutrition and performance of students and older adults. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results and conclusion: Poor eating habits have a significant impact on students' academic performance. These unhealthy habits, characterized by excessive intake of processed foods and lack of essential nutrients, have been shown to negatively impact several key aspects of academic success. A diet deficient in essential nutrients affects the optimal functioning of the brain, resulting in difficulty concentrating, poor memory and decreased attention span. This prevents students from effectively retaining information and actively participating in classes.
